Irrigation Water Budget Forecast Calculator
Calculate precise crop water needs and irrigation forecasts using FAO-56 scientific methodology.
About the Tool & Scientific Basis
The Irrigation Water Budget Forecast Calculator helps estimate irrigation requirements using the FAO Penman-Monteith method for reference evapotranspiration (ET₀) and crop coefficients (Kc) to compute crop evapotranspiration (ETc = Kc × ET₀). It applies a soil water balance to forecast net irrigation needs: Irrigation = ETc - Effective Rainfall - Change in Soil Moisture (considering MAD - management allowed depletion).
This ensures reliable, peer-reviewed accuracy for sustainable farming. Effective rainfall is approximated (e.g., 100% if light rain, reduced for heavy to account for runoff).
